North-east IT provider, tycom, has taken a step forward in its strategy of becoming one of Scotland's leading IT providers with the opening of an office in the central belt.

The company which specialises in hardware sales, IT support and software development has invested in excess of £150,000 in upgrading services and an office in Dunfermline from where it will service its growing number of central belt clients.

The new premises will provide a base for engineers operating in the area as well as technical and administrative personnel.

tycom reported 33% growth in turnover last year and a rise of 15% in its client portfolio and as part of its strategic growth a central Scotland location was sought. The company has added to its growing portfolio of central belt clients by recently winning over 30 new contracts in the region

Alistair Findlater, managing director of tycom, said: "We are looking to strengthen our position throughout Scotland and the Dunfermline office now ensures that we are ideally placed to build on our growing reputation outwith the North-east.

We have the infrastructure and personnel in place to make best advantage of the opportunities in the area and we hope to see the same kind of growth we are experiencing in the North-east

tycom recently formalised a partnership with Edinburgh-based Pace Professional Systems, which will see them in addition to providing specialist IT hardware supply bespoke legal software to the profession.
